Cats Protection stands as the foremost feline welfare organization in the UK, envisioning a future where every cat receives compassionate treatment and understanding of its unique needs.

Our mission revolves around three core objectives: finding homes for cats, promoting neutering, and educating the public about feline care.

Each year, we assist thousands of cats across the UK, made possible by our network of committed volunteers, staff, and supporters.

About the Role

As a charitable organization, we depend on the generosity of the public to sustain our efforts in aiding cats and kittens in distress. Our fundraising volunteers play a crucial role within a dedicated team, working to generate funds for our feline companions. They engage in planning and executing a variety of fundraising activities, ranging from craft fairs and bake sales to sponsored challenges and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the organization of fundraising events within your community
  • Collaborating with fellow volunteers to brainstorm and implement fundraising initiatives
  • Advocating for cat welfare and promoting the mission of Cats Protection
  • Supporting national fundraising campaigns as needed

What You Will Gain

In this role, you will acquire new skills, broaden your understanding, and contribute to raising funds that significantly enhance the lives of cats and kittens in need. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to meet new individuals, forge friendships, and become part of a passionate volunteer team.

Time Commitment

Typically, our fundraising volunteers dedicate 2 to 3 hours per week to this role, with flexibility that allows for shared responsibilities among multiple volunteers if necessary.

Support and Safety

At Cats Protection, we prioritize the happiness and confidence of our volunteers. We offer comprehensive support and guidance from our National Cat Centre, as well as through regional and local volunteer groups. Engaging training sessions, both online and in-person, are provided, along with reimbursement for expenses. We have established policies and procedures to ensure that volunteers maximize their experience with us.

The wellbeing of our volunteers is paramount, and Cats Protection is dedicated to safeguarding children, vulnerable adults, and all individuals we interact with during our activities.
