About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Registrar to join our team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with complex fetal and maternal conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide general obstetric cover, including antenatal and postnatal ward rounds, CS lists, and DAU unit cover.
  • Participate in the senior registrar equivalent on-call rota, working night shifts and weekends.
  • Conduct and develop a research programme, aligned with the department's research strategy and MFM subspecialist training requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and local managers to ensure the efficient running of the Service.
  • Participate in the Trust's system of governance and audit, and maintain CME/CPD.
About the Team

The Feto-Maternal Medicine Unit at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a leading centre for fetal medicine, with a high volume of complex cases. The unit delivers care to over 5,400 women booked for routine antenatal care each year, and accepts referrals from across the region.

Requirements
  • Full GMC registration.
  • MRCOG part 2.
  • Training in obstetrics and gynaecology of 5 years at SpR grade or equivalent.
  • Track record in conducting research, with evidence of contribution to research and public presentation/publications.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
