Electrical Design Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at RED Engineering Design in Bicester. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and coordination of electrical installations, systems, and equipment for various projects, including data centres, process pharmaceutical, healthcare, commercial, labs, and clean rooms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and specify electrical systems, including controls, instruments, and operating systems.
  • Conduct surveys, tests, and reports on existing electrical installations.
  • Develop and specify applications of electrical systems for various building types.
  • Represent the company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams, and contractors.
  • Prepare specification modifications and ensure engineering calculations and drawings meet industry and legal standards.
  • Support the delivery of projects in accordance with the RED Project Delivery Process.

Requirements:

  • Experience in the delivery of European data centres and mission-critical projects.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, Apple Excel, and IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to use specification design/drawing software.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
