Blake Morgan LLP is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious individual to join our Business Support and Insolvency Team in the Reading office. As an Insolvency Paralegal, you will play a key role in supporting the team in all aspects of insolvency, including transactional, advisory, and contentious insolvency.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the Insolvency Act 1986 and Insolvency Rules 2016, with experience in dealing with administration appointments, security reviews, sales of businesses, winding up petitions, bankruptcy petitions, matrimonial home proceedings, transactions at undervalue, preferences, and directors' loan accounts. Experience of working with LPA Receivers would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities- Support the team in all aspects of insolvency, including transactional, advisory, and contentious insolvency
- Assist in the preparation and filing of insolvency documents, including petitions and statements of affairs
- Conduct research and analysis on insolvency-related matters
- Provide administrative support to the team, including data entry and document management
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- A strong understanding of the Insolvency Act 1986 and Insolvency Rules 2016
- Experience in dealing with administration appointments, security reviews, sales of businesses, winding up petitions, bankruptcy petitions, matrimonial home proceedings, transactions at undervalue, preferences, and directors' loan accounts
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
