Unify is seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Specialist to join our dynamic team focused on Natural Resources, Nuclear, and Networks. Key Responsibilities:
As an Electrical Commissioning Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the water and wastewater sector. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, you will oversee the commissioning of wastewater and sludge treatment facilities from the completion of construction to successful handover.
  • Conducting electrical inspections of cable terminations and glandings in the field, while producing updated as-built electrical schematics.
  • Identifying and resolving electrical challenges through effective troubleshooting and fault-finding techniques.
  • Testing and commissioning electrical power and Instrumentation, Control, and Automation (ICA) systems, including motors, inverter drives, magnetic flow meters, pressure transducers, level sensors, and valve actuators.
  • Performing functional tests of both analogue and digital signals to the PLC and SCADA systems, as well as initial start-up and wet commissioning of various equipment such as pumps, blowers, gas boosters, sludge screens, mixing pumps, and gas compressors.
  • Conducting functionality tests of process plants as part of Site Acceptance Testing and preparing detailed commissioning reports to facilitate handover.
  • Ensuring all commissioning activities adhere to Electrical Site Safety Rules and Health and Safety regulations.

Qualifications:
To be considered for the Electrical Commissioning Specialist role, candidates should possess:
  • A minimum of City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 qualification and hold an ECS (JIB) Gold Card.
  • Experience supervising electrical installations on capital projects, with a minimum of a 4-day safety qualification (such as IOSH, SSSTS, or SMSTS).
  • A strong technical foundation in Electrical Engineering, with experience in carrying out Authorised Person (LV) duties.
  • The capability to take full ownership of producing, reviewing, and completing inspection and test documentation necessary for handover.
