About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced therapist to join our dedicated and specialist multi-disciplinary eating disorders service for young people and their families. The successful candidate will hold a caseload and have the opportunity to work with complex young people.

The post will be part of the CWP Trustwide Hub and Spoke Eating Disorder Teams and will be based at the hub in Chester (CHEDs). CHEDS is a regional outpatient service offering evidence-based treatment approaches to 13-18 year olds who present with an eating disorder and their families/carers.

We are looking for a therapist with a genuine interest in working with young people with eating disorders and their families, and a commitment to delivering specialist assessments and evidence-based interventions. We welcome applications from individuals with relevant training and experience, and will consider applications from a range of professional backgrounds (DBT, CBT, etc).

CWP provides health and care services for local people, including mental health, learning disability, community physical health, and all-age disability care. Our aim is to help people be the best they can be, adopting a compassionate, person-centred approach to everything we do.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver specialist therapy to young people with eating disorders and their families
  • Hold a caseload and work with complex young people
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of therapeutic programmes
  • Provide clinical consultation and supervision to colleagues
  • Contribute to the development of the service and participate in audit and research
Requirements
  • Minimum postgraduate qualification and accreditation in a specific therapeutic modality (e.g. DBT, CBT, Family/Systemic Therapy)
  • Knowledge and expertise in other therapeutic models
  • MSc level training in a specific therapeutic modality
  • Substantial experience in delivering specialist therapy within an adolescent eating disorder setting
  • Knowledge and expertise in working with adolescents with mental health problems
  • Knowledge and expertise in the application of a specific therapeutic approach in a therapeutic setting
  • Understanding of child and adolescent development within the context of the family
  • Skills in the assessment of risk and crisis management
  • Knowledge of legislation relevant to young people
  • Knowledge and expertise in managing adolescents with eating disorders

This is a fixed-term post for 12 months, with part-time hours (30 hours) available. We are willing to consider further part-time hours, job share, and flexible hours.

The salary for this post is £43,742 to £50,056 per annum pro rata.

The post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
