Principal Process Engineer

Role Overview:

We seek candidates with extensive experience and expertise in the oil and gas sector, particularly in refinery-related projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will be concentrated on specific studies or projects, including but not limited to:
  • Analyzing project specifications and requirements for tenders and proposals.
  • Evaluating and selecting technologies, alongside conducting economic assessments.
  • Conducting process configuration and optimization studies.
  • Contributing to the formulation of design parameters and methodologies.
  • Preparing technically sound, safe, environmentally sustainable, and cost-effective engineering analyses and solutions for approval.
  • Developing design basis and philosophy documents, including safeguarding and shutdown procedures.
  • Creating process descriptions and conducting process modeling and simulations.
  • Producing PFDs and heat and material balances.
  • Developing MSD and material selection philosophies.
  • Designing Process and Utility P&IDs, including hydraulic analysis and line sizing.
  • Specifying equipment, with a focus on distillation tower design and tray sizing.
  • Specifying in-line instrumentation.
  • Summarizing utilities and chemicals consumption.
  • Conducting simulations and calculations.
  • Providing support across all project phases, from engineering to start-up.
  • Participating as a discipline lead in safety, environmental, and operability reviews.
  • Collaborating with other engineering disciplines and design teams.
  • Assisting in the development of process knowledge databases for studies and projects.
  • Designing relief systems, including PSV sizing and flare hydraulics.
Qualifications and Skills:

We encourage applications from experienced engineers who possess:
  • A BSc or MSc in Chemical Engineering with a comprehensive background in Gas/Liquids Cracking Technology.
  • Expertise in Gas Processing, Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage, Petrochemicals, and Refining.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of carbon dioxide capture and storage technology.
  • A theoretical understanding of process design methodologies and tools.
  • Substantial knowledge in Oil & Gas Processing and Refining, preferably with an engineering contractor.
  • Experience in leading teams of Process Engineers.
  • Proficiency in Engineering Work Processes, including inter-discipline coordination and change management.
  • Familiarity with Industry Codes and Standards (API, ASTM, ASME, etc.).
Process Simulation Tools: Hysys, PRO/II, PROMAX, Flarenet, Flaresim.

Engineering Work Processes: Emphasis on interdisciplinary coordination and change management.

Industry Codes and Standards: Knowledge of API 520, 521, 526, 527, 2000, etc.

Leadership: Experience managing a team of process engineers.

Project Reporting: Involvement in progress and schedule reporting.
