A prominent export organization is in search of a skilled and versatile Bookkeeper to become a vital part of a small, welcoming team.

Key Responsibilities:

Weekly Duties:

  • Conduct weekly bank reconciliations for all accounts and post any direct debits.
  • Manage BACS payment runs, ensuring deductions for any supplier settlement discounts and sending remittances.
  • Update sales spreadsheets and adjust stock levels as necessary.
  • Monitor outstanding debtors and ensure timely follow-up.

Monthly Duties:

  • Prepare month-end reports, including Profit & Loss statements and balance sheets for management review.
  • Reconcile reports to the trial balance, including fixed assets, accruals, and currency revaluations.
  • Perform stock reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Handle petty cash reconciliation and postings.
  • Submit monthly VAT returns and verify debtor statements.
  • Ensure all sales invoices from the shipping department are accounted for and address any discrepancies.
  • Update reports on unshipped invoices and sales commissions.
  • Calculate gross salary figures for accountants.

Quarterly Duties:

  • Review older purchase invoices and address any outstanding queries.
  • Ensure receipt of quarterly supplier commission credit notes.
  • Compile EC Sales Lists.

Yearly Duties:

  • Conduct year-end reporting, reconciling physical stock counts with accounting records, and preparing for audits.
  • Archive previous year accounts and submit year-end accounts to accountants for audit.
  • Calculate and journal corporation tax figures as determined by accountants.

Daily Ad-Hoc Responsibilities:

  • Manage staff expenses and produce necessary financial reports.
  • Administer petty cash and maintain organized filing systems.
