We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Asset Manager to join our team at West Sussex County Council. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of our built estate.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and maintain our built assets, including freehold and leased buildings, to ensure they meet statutory requirements and best practice standards.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to identify potential issues and develop solutions to mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with the Regional Facilities Manager (West) to develop and implement asset management strategies that align with our business objectives.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to other team members, including mentoring and on-the-job training.
- Support the development of long-term plans for the service, ensuring continuous improvement and business continuity.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of building surveying and asset management principles.
- Proven experience in managing and maintaining built assets, including freehold and leased buildings.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.
- Ability to travel independently around the county, including to areas with limited public transport access.
- Previous formal training or professional qualification in surveying or a related field.
- A supportive working environment with opportunities for career progression.
