Position Overview

Senior IT Systems Engineer - Infrastructure, 3rd Line, VMWARE, Windows Server, Azure, Fully Remote

Salary: £42,000

Work Arrangement: Fully remote (with minimal travel required)

We are seeking a dedicated IT Systems Engineer to become a vital part of a prominent healthcare organization. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, cost-efficient IT System and Cloud services to all stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will be tasked with managing, maintaining, and enhancing server and system environments to guarantee service availability, reliability, scalability, performance, and recovery.

Key Skills Required

  • Expertise in maintaining server hardware and infrastructure for peak performance.
  • Strong background in managing and maintaining Windows Server environments.
  • Proficient in administering and configuring Active Directory services.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies to optimize server and application efficiency.
  • Knowledgeable in storage technologies, ensuring secure and efficient data management.
  • Experience in implementing and managing Azure cloud services, both public and private.
  • Skilled in overseeing data center operations to ensure reliability.
  • Ability to develop and execute robust backup strategies to protect data.
  • Familiarity with network technologies to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting for all server and system infrastructure.
  • Perform regular system upgrades and maintenance tasks.
  • Develop and maintain IT Systems policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Manage and resolve incidents and issues related to systems.
  • Provide high-level support for the organization’s central infrastructure and critical business systems.
  • Assist in the implementation of significant server, system, and cloud-based projects.
  • Ensure the achievement of established goals for server infrastructure.
  • Engage in escalations within the IT Service Delivery team as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to IT Service Management processes within the IT Infrastructure and Service Delivery teams.
  • Evaluate and propose innovative system technologies and solutions that align with strategic business goals.
