Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to lead our dynamic team at Napier Turbocharger, a Wabtec Company. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality turbocharger components and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage projects within Manufacturing, ensuring timely delivery, project planning, execution, and cost control.
  • Define and implement manufacturing processes for turbocharger components and assemblies, ensuring efficiency and quality.
  • Develop and maintain supporting documentation, including Manufacturing Routings, Layouts, and Instructions.
  • Program and operate multi-axis Turning, Milling, Grinding, and EDM machines, as well as Co-ordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) using PC-DMIS.
  • Investigate and resolve non-conformance issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Procure jigs, fixtures, tooling, gauging, and lifting equipment, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with Design, Quality, Procurement, and external suppliers to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives, driving efficiency and productivity.
Requirements
  • Hold a HNC level or above in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with relevant training as a Manufacturing Technician/Engineer.
  • Have experience in a modern manufacturing facility, with a strong understanding of modern machining techniques and problem-solving methods.
  • Be familiar with LEAN manufacturing techniques and processes, as well as computer software.
