Gynae-Oncology Cancer Nurse Specialist

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Gynaecology Cancer Nurse Specialist Team at Poole Hospital for 12 months. The successful applicant will work alongside the current Gynaecology CNS Team based at Poole, with the possibility of working on the Bournemouth site to cover sickness or leave. The role involves developing a UHD Gynaecology Cancer CNS Service.
Key Responsibilities- Support patients and their families throughout the Gynaecology Cancer Pathway.
- Ensure timeliness of investigations and appointments through the diagnostic pathway, with awareness of Cancer Waiting Time Targets.
- Present at Breaking Bad News, offer support and information regarding diagnosis and treatment, and act as the patient's advocate.
- Advise on symptom management and work closely with members of the Gynaecology Cancer Multidisciplinary Team, Primary and Tertiary Care.
- NMC Registered Nurse (RMN/RGN).
- Recognised teaching qualification or experience in teaching.
- Demonstrable Gynaecology/Oncology/Symptom Control Knowledge.
- Conversant with developments in Oncology at National and Local levels.
- IT Literacy using a range of current and relevant packages.
- Teaching and presentation skills.
- Demonstrable Gynaecology/Oncology Palliative Care Experience.
- Managing a specified patient caseload.
