This role is essential in fostering a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere for students with severe learning difficulties. Our organization is committed to ensuring that every child can thrive and reach their full potential, regardless of the challenges they face.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting students with understanding instructions and completing tasks.
- Supporting the development of sequencing skills, such as following a recipe or conducting experiments.
- Helping students relate to their environment and manage personal organization.
- Enhancing visual and auditory memory for information and instructions.
- Providing support in reading, writing, and numeracy.
- Creating a positive learning environment.
- Managing challenging behaviors in collaboration with the classroom teacher.
- Working closely with the teacher to design and implement engaging activities.
- Monitoring and recording student progress, providing feedback to the teacher.
- Offering support on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
Ideal Candidate:
The successful candidate will possess:
- Experience or a strong desire to work with children with special educational needs.
- A solid understanding of SEN and a passion for professional growth.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors effectively.
- Commitment to working on fixed days, whether full or part-time.
- A clear and valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
- Relevant training to support students with learning difficulties.
