Job Overview

We are seeking an exceptional shipping and commodities lawyer to join our in-house legal team at Peninsula, a global marine energy business. The successful candidate will be responsible for advising on a wide range of legal issues related to marine energy supply, cargo purchasing and trading, vessel ownership, chartering and fleet management.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in shipping and commodities law, with experience in drafting and negotiating contracts, advising on regulatory developments, and resolving disputes. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising on marine energy supply, cargo purchasing and trading, vessel ownership, chartering and fleet management
  • Drafting and negotiating contracts, including general terms and conditions, supply agreements, and cargo sale/purchase contracts
  • Advising on regulatory developments in shipping and marine energy
  • Resolving disputes and claims related to marine energy supply, cargo purchasing and trading, vessel ownership, chartering and fleet management

Requirements

  • UK-qualified solicitor/barrister/foreign lawyer with 2-3 years relevant post-qualification experience at a top City, International or Boutique Shipping/Commodities Law Firm
  • Strong background in shipping and commodities law
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders
