About This Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Strategic Operations Systems Manager to join our team at Western Power. This is a key leadership role that requires a deep understanding of operational systems and the ability to develop and implement strategic plans to drive business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver short, medium, and long-term strategic plans for key operational systems used by Network Operations and Western Power.
  • Lead and influence cross-functional representation and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of solutions.
  • Manage multiple operational systems programs and associated initiatives, ensuring timely delivery of expected outcomes and effective management of cross-functional and complex initiative interdependencies, risks, and issues.
  • Provide technical thought leadership and guidance to support the resolution of complex issues and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop strategic objectives and governance structures, establish budget and resources through the IRC process, and work closely with delivery partners to deliver from inception to approval.
  • Ensure activities operate in line with internal policies, frameworks, and procedures, and comply with all relevant legislation and professional standards.
About You

We are looking for someone with a strong background in operational systems, strategic planning, and leadership. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering, Business Management, Economics, Project Management, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of experience in operational systems, with a strong understanding of strategic planning and leadership.
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering strategic plans, leading cross-functional teams, and managing complex initiatives.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to think conceptually, apply business context, and generate solutions that drive business outcomes.
