About the Role
This exciting opportunity is available within our Finance and Corporate Accounting section of the finance team at Reigate & Banstead Borough Council.
You will have the chance to support the Finance Manager and Group Accountant with financial management, bank reconciliation, and maintaining core financial controls.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with treasury management and bank reconciliation
- Maintaining core financial controls and ensuring compliance
- Contributing to the annual closedown and statement of accounts preparation
- Developing initiatives to advance the Finance function and financial processes
Local Government or public sector experience is preferred due to the specialist nature of the role. We are looking for a supportive, flexible, and positive individual who is passionate about financial accounting and analysis.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Good experience in financial accounting, completing reconciliations, and analysis to support key financial controls
- Strong experience in year-end accounting and treasury management, preferably within a Local Government setting
