Kitchen Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Spire Shawfair Park Hospital in Edinburgh. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and dining facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the kitchen and dining room are clean and well-maintained
  • Take orders and serve food in the staff dining room
  • Work closely with chefs and other kitchen staff to meet the varying needs of the kitchen
  • Ensure cleaning jobs are completed and signed for in accordance with cleaning schedules and procedures
  • Comply with all Health and Safety at Work Regulations, including COSHH
  • Observe dietary requirements and ensure menu choices are compatible
  • Ensure all crockery and cutlery are clean and undamaged
  • Wash, dry, and put away trays, crockery, cutlery, and glassware
  • Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen
  • Responsible for the return of all equipment to the main kitchen on a daily basis
  • Responsible for replenishing stock within the dining room

Requirements:

  • A passion for delivering excellent customer service
  • Proven ability to build rapport with customers
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Excellent interpersonal and judgement skills
