Junior Research and Development Engineer

Job Title: Junior Research and Development Engineer
Location: Manchester, UK

Company Overview: We are currently working with a global construction company based in Manchester. They have been around for over 50 years and have a large product range for their construction clients. Due to growth, they are looking to add a graduate or junior engineer to the team.

Position Overview: As a Junior Research and Development Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, testing, and enhancement of our product line, driving innovation and ensuring our continued success in the global market. The role will involve assisting the company in its product development activities including research, detailed design, innovation, prototyping, testing, manufacturing, and existing fleet maintenance/upgrades, as well as researching new business services/initiatives.

  1. Assisting with the project management of new product launches into the business.
  2. Working with the Research and Development Team in producing manufacturing drawings for new products and modifications.
  3. Load testing and material testing of new and existing products.
  4. Performing research tasks for new Research and Development projects.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Either a graduate or 1-2 years of experience in product development or engineering design, preferably in the construction industry but open to Mechanical or mining sectors.
  3. Proficiency in CAD software (they use Inventor, AutoCAD).
  4. Passion for innovation and a desire to contribute to the advancement of construction technology.
