Work Schedule:

Role Purpose:

As an Engineering Technician in a well-established animal feed production facility, your primary focus will be to enhance machinery performance and product quality while minimizing downtime through effective maintenance practices. This role requires maintaining a safe working environment and promoting best engineering practices.

Expect a fast-paced and dynamic manufacturing setting, where hygiene standards are paramount. The position is primarily factory-based.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance and respond to breakdowns effectively.
  • Ensure maintenance activities align with the current schedule and implement efficient corrective actions.
  • Provide prompt responses to equipment failures, identifying root causes and suggesting improvements.
  • Communicate unplanned breakdowns to management and collaborate with operations to minimize disruptions.
  • Document and track spare parts usage through the CMMS.
  • Adhere to engineering standards and hygiene practices across the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Participate in mechanical and electrical projects and installations.
  • Operate effluent plant systems while ensuring environmental compliance.
  • Understand and operate fire suppression systems.
  • Demonstrate awareness of environmental impacts and mitigation strategies.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Completion of a time-served multi-skilled apprenticeship in a relevant engineering field.
  • A proactive approach to safety and maintenance.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to perform under pressure with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and a positive attitude, with the capability to work effectively within a small team.
  • Experience in food manufacturing is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems and pneumatic/hydraulic systems is desirable.
  • Certification in Boiler Operator Accreditation Scheme (BOAS) is a plus.
