About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our friendly and award-winning team as a Kitchen Assistant. As a key member of our catering function, you will play a vital role in supporting the safe production of beverages and meals for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all food preparations are undertaken in the kitchen to the highest standards of hygiene, adhering to the principles of safe food handling.
  • Contribute fully to team working, responding positively to colleagues and actioning all reasonable work instructions promptly.
  • Advise on the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring the timely and appropriate ordering of replacement goods.
  • Act with respect and dignity towards residents and their visitors, upholding the values of Avery Healthcare.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to live our values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable in all that you do. Our ideal candidate will hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrate high standards of personal hygiene.

They will also possess knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments. Additionally, they will be an efficient worker, capable of a high level of sustained physical effort and able to respond to a demanding workload.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates initiative and a positive and flexible aptitude to team working, as well as a caring and understanding attitude towards our residents.
