About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Hays Construction and Property. As a key member of our Building Services department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality MEP documentation and technical construction documentation for architects, developers, and self-builders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver MEP documentation on projects in an accurate and timely manner
  • Maintain professional working relationships with clients
  • Attend meetings and keep on top of communications with clients and colleagues
  • Communicate and escalate any problems to manager when problems arise on projects
  • Manage MEP projects
  • Review work produced by more junior members of the team
  • Perform design calculations
  • Create MEP system drawings
  • Write system specifications
  • Attend meetings with the design team
  • Write feasibility reports
  • Attend site from time to time to physically inspect installations on behalf of the client or the company
Requirements
  • At least 4 years design experience in the construction industry
  • Experience with the RIBA stage of construction design work
  • Experience of different types of design contracts including design and build and traditional
  • Understanding of the importance of data confidentiality and employee's wellbeing
  • Computer literate in software such as Outlook, Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Electrical OM, Revit and Dialux
  • Ideal candidate will be a chartered engineer with the ICE
  • A master's degree in engineering or physics or science-based degree
  • Membership to CIBSE, IET or IMechE
