Job Overview

Service Care Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Finance Officer to join their team in a local authority within Bradford. As a key member of the financial services team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of financial services and maintaining the Council's financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of financial services.
  • Stay up-to-date with various financial disciplines to provide expert support to the Department.
  • Maintain the Council's general ledger and other supporting financial records, including computerized databases.
  • Ensure compliance with budgeting and accounting procedures, including the operation of financial controls.
  • Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial and other information to inform operational decisions.
  • Support the close-down processes of the authority and prepare service accounts.
  • Provide reliable and timely financial information and support to service departments.
  • Listen to service customers and promote the department through the provision of quality services.

Requirements:

  • AAT or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Three years of practical experience in financial services.
  • Preparation of reports and maintenance of financial systems and procedures.
  • Experience working in a financial environment in local government.
