Grounds Maintenance Operative Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team at Gi Group. As a key member of our grounds maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our grounds and facilities.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all grounds and facilities are maintained to a high standard, including mowing, pruning, and other tasks as required.
  • Operate and maintain a range of equipment, including mowers, trimmers, and other machinery.
  • Work closely with the area Team Leader to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Ensure all paperwork and administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Provide excellent customer service to members of the public, responding to queries and concerns in a polite and professional manner.
  • Ensure all Council assets and resources are utilized, maintained, and stored in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Interpret route sheets, site plans, and other documentation to ensure all operations are undertaken in accordance with these.
Requirements:
  • Full driving license
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to interpret and follow instructions
  • Physical ability to perform manual tasks
