Job Overview

Mechanical Commissioning Technician

Security Clearance: The capability to obtain BPSS, P4 pass, and fulfill any additional client security prerequisites is crucial for this position.

The Mechanical Commissioning Technician is accountable for:

  • Prioritizing safety above all else throughout the project, with a continuous commitment to achieving Zero Harm. This includes serving as a role model for safety practices and maintaining a proactive stance on nuclear, radiological, conventional, and environmental safety.
  • Executing all testing operations during various phases of commissioning.
  • Assisting in the creation of testing documentation.
  • Participating in the initiation and execution of Field Observation Reports (FOBs) and Technical Queries (TQs).
  • Conducting testing activities for third-party observation.
  • Managing the application and removal of Temporary Commissioning Aids.
  • Contributing to the documentation of supporting data in line with testing requirements.
  • Utilizing completions management systems to oversee commissioning tasks.
  • Performing commissioning duties in accordance with project timelines.
  • Engaging in multidisciplinary design reviews and collaborating with the engineering team.

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

  • Completed apprenticeship or equivalent in an engineering field, such as piping or electrical engineering.
  • Preference for ONC or equivalent qualifications or a pathway to obtain such qualifications.
  • Experience in project commissioning.
  • Familiarity with Design Tools/Software such as Go Completions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
