Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PCN Paramedic to join our dynamic team at Primary Care Careers. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our primary care services.
Main Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients at the first point of contact, utilizing your expertise in emergency care and clinical decision-making.
- Triage and prioritize patients, including those in emergency situations, to ensure timely and effective care.
- Evaluate clinical information, initiate appropriate treatment, and refer patients to other services as needed.
- Undertake and interpret diagnostics, taking appropriate action to manage patient care and promote optimal outcomes.
- Signpost patients to other services and refer them to appropriate care settings within locally agreed healthcare pathways.
- Discharge or treat patients as appropriate, within the scope of your practice and in accordance with local protocols.
- Maintain accurate and systematic documentation of patient interactions and clinical care provided, including adverse events.
- Advise and support members of the public on healthy lifestyles, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Provide clinical advice to other team members as needed.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
- Current registration as a nurse (NMC) or paramedic (HCPC).
- Evidence of continued professional development.
- Attended X-ray/IRMER course.
- Teaching and assessment qualification.
- ALS/APLS provider.
- Completed RCN clinical leadership programme or similar.
Essential Experience
- Experience as a practitioner in an A&E Department or similar emergency care centre.
- Experience as an autonomous practitioner within a minor injury/illness centre or mobile service.
- Dispensing skills as per protocols and patient group directives.
- Ability to manage multiple workloads.
- Good communication skills.
- Able to work autonomously.
- Record keeping skills.
- Able to promote a learning environment.
