Job Summary:We are looking for a highly experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to oversee the maintenance, repair, testing, and inspection of mechanical equipment across the site. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and meeting production targets.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor and maintain mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and meeting production targets.
- Engage in and support the continuous improvement culture, actively participating in relevant projects and modifications.
- Install mechanical plant and equipment, adhering to appropriate current standards.
- Utilise the maintenance database system to complete scheduled maintenance work on time.
- Promptly respond to service requests from the engineering planner, prioritising tasks efficiently.
- Monitor engineering stores, reporting any items for reordering.
- Provide support to the project team for planned maintenance activities, including shutdowns.
- Collaborate with the maintenance controller, process team leader, and planner regarding resource allocation, permit to work requirements, and work priorities.
- Continually update the maintenance database, sign off completed jobs, add additional work, and report any required changes to the engineering planner.
- Control and supervise service contractors when required.
- Assist in the daily completion of the maintenance shift handover log, ensuring accuracy and clarity of information.
- Understand and interpret engineering drawings.
- Perform engineering tasks in accordance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office.
- Utilise a computer-based maintenance system.
- Provide written records of engineering work undertaken.
- NVQ Level 3/Coded Welding qualification.
