About the Role

RPS Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Ecologist to lead our ecological consulting team. As a Senior Ecologist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality ecological services to our clients, including habitat and protected species surveys, technical report writing, and project management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and undertake habitat and protected species surveys, supervising field staff and survey effort to identify key receptors, constraints, and opportunities to developments.
  • Write and deliver technical reports, EcIA, ES chapter, inputting into HRA reports, and design and implement mitigation and compensation measures to meet the requirements of NPF4.
  • Manage the financial aspects of projects, with the support of senior management.
  • Work with senior management and clients to generate new work streams and provide input to and lead tenders for new work.

Requirements

  • Full membership of CIEEM and a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
  • Experience of writing and delivering Breadth of ECoW on a range of projects and understanding the process of preparing and implementing EPS and other licence applications.
  • Good time and project management skills, as well as sound influencing and communication skills that enable you to build, maintain, and consolidate working relationships with colleagues, clients, and external bodies.
