Job Description

Job Title: Insurance Business Analyst

Job Summary:

Lorien is seeking an experienced Insurance Business Analyst to join our team. As an Insurance Business Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing business needs and developing solutions to improve our insurance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Elicit, analyze, and validate system and business requirements to ensure effective development of new or changed software, systems, and business processes.
  • Manage product sprint cycles, working with the business to prioritize change, agreeing sprint scope with the business and development team, and tracking associated progress.
  • Manage requirements throughout the whole delivery lifecycle, facilitating negotiation of trade-offs that are acceptable to key stakeholders and within budgetary, technical, regulatory, and other constraints.
  • Act as a conduit between IT, Operations, Data, and Finance teams to ensure requirements are understood and each stakeholder has appropriate involvement.
  • Provide oversight and management of User Acceptance Testing, utilizing appropriate techniques and tools, and report on the outcome of testing, translating and prioritizing risk to ensure those risks associated with the change are understood by all stakeholders.
  • Utilize market knowledge to bring the art of the possible and creative thinking to solving business challenges.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and methodically.
  • Experience of web and cloud technologies and agile methodologies.
  • Very strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with senior managers and other key internal and external stakeholders.
  • High-impact presentation skills, demonstrated leadership skills, and ability to think strategically.
  • Proactively sharing 'what works best' with others across the organization.
  • Actively listens to the views of colleagues and business leaders, but also has the strength of character to challenge where required to ensure operational excellence.
  • Extensive experience gained in an insurance MGA or carrier environment.
  • Good understanding of Insurance Operations, Data, Credit Control, and Finance.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of insurance principles, products, and services.
  • An understanding of regulatory requirements.
