Job Title: CAD/CAM Programmer

Westwood Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced CAD/CAM Programmer to join our team in Rochdale. As a key member of our precision sheet metal fabrication client, you will play a vital role in transforming conceptual designs into precise manufacturing specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize SolidWorks to create and modify detailed 3D models and technical drawings based on design concepts and engineering input.
  • Program CNC machines using RADAN software to generate toolpaths and machine code for accurate manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with the design and fabrication teams to optimize designs for manufacturability and efficiency.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues in the CAD/CAM processes, making necessary adjustments to ensure quality and precision.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of industry trends, software updates, and best practices in CAD/CAM programming.
  • Document and organize programming and design files for easy reference and future improvements.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks software is essential.
  • Knowledge/experience using RADAN software would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience as a CAD/CAM Programmer or related role in a sheet metal work/fabrication environment.
  • Experience in Sheet Metal Design work.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and manufacturing principles.
  • Knowledge of materials, tolerances, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on precision and quality.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
