About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join our team at NTT Global Data Centers EMEA GmbH. As a critical member of our facilities team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Maintenance and Operations
    • Plan, manage, and implement the delivery of facilities maintenance services to ensure operational performance is maintained to the highest possible standards.
    • Provide engineering services and guidance on property matters affecting the on-going management and development of the data centers.
  • Maintenance and Repair
    • Provide a customer-focused service and a high standard of planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
    • Proactively involved in the on-going technical evaluation of all plant and equipment, suggesting improvements where appropriate.
    • Accurately record and report maintenance activity to ensure Key Source System is correctly updated.
  • Equipment Performance and Monitoring
    • Monitor and maintain equipment performance to ensure correct operation of the critical services of the data centers.
    • Identify faults and accurately diagnose root causes.
  • Statutory Compliance and Safety
    • Oversight of statutory compliance, including water treatment and closed systems.
    • Supervise all operational and maintenance activities to ensure work is executed in a safe and suitable manner and complies with SLA's.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration
    • Supervise staff, both in-house and external suppliers, to deliver a highly focused client service.
    • Co-ordinate planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Ensure the maintenance of accurate plant records, information, and reporting systems.
    • Support the shift engineering teams to ensure correct operation of the critical services of the data centers.
Requirements
  • Experience and Qualifications
    • Experience in facilities, operations, or engineering in a data center or other critical environment.
    • Working knowledge and understanding of engineering operations within business-critical environments.
    • Creating and developing operational procedure (OP) documentation and other related processes.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • A flexible but non-comprising approach to service delivery.
    • Ability to discuss and understand technical problems and resolutions with engineering specialists.
    • Demonstrable experience in operating and fault-finding complex and integrated M&E systems.
  • Essential Qualifications
    • 18th Edition certified or similar electrical qualification.
    • IOSH – Working Safely.
    • Good understanding of data center systems or other critical environments.

  • A/C/Chiller experience would be advantageous.
  • Water treatment experience (cooling systems).
  • Commitment to the delivery of excellent customer service.
  • A calm manner, able to work under pressure.
  • Good numerical and literacy skills and proficient IT skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise.
  • Good analytical/problem-solving skills.
