Job Title: Lead Engineer - Substation Projects

Job Summary:

Linxon is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to join our team in the role of Substation Projects. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating all engineering activities for medium-voltage and high-voltage substation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate all engineering activities for substation projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
  • Provide technical leadership and coordination for all engineering activities, including design, construction, and commissioning.
  • Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Manage and lead cross-functional teams, including internal and external stakeholders, to achieve project objectives.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues, ensuring compliance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with proposal teams to develop and validate sub-contractor bids, and negotiate sub-contracts for electrical substation projects.
  • Conform bid packages with customer project documents, ensuring accurate and complete information.
  • Analyze sub-contractor bid responses for inconsistencies, oversights, and mistakes, and lead bid reviews to resolve issues.
  • Prepare and update project execution plans, schedules, and budgets, emphasizing on-time delivery, quality of deliverables, and project costs.
  • Develop design criteria and document deliverables lists for projects, and perform technical, cost savings, and constructability reviews of design packages.
  • Generate equipment specifications, monitor vendor technical compliance, and witness factory acceptance testing.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 12-15 years of substation engineering experience.
  • Experience in engineering leadership and preparation/management of SLD, layout, sections, primary design & calculations, grounding & lightning design, steel design inputs, transformers, converters/rectifiers, HV & MV switchgear systems, auxiliary power AC & DC systems, power cables, RFQ, BOQ, SCF, DSLP, earthing system, busbar sizing, cable engineering, secondary engineering, protection, and control.
  • Experience as a Contractor Design Approval Engineer (CDAE) / Lead Contractor Design Approval Engineer (LCDAE) will be an advantage.
  • BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Fluency in English - both written and spoken, additional languages are a plus.
