Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Apprenticeship Manager to join our Professional Development team at Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS FT. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the clinical student apprenticeship agenda, ensuring that all clinical apprenticeship students are supported and receive appropriate clinical placements in line with NMC and HCPC regulatory requirements.

About the Role

In this role, you will work in partnership with Higher Education Institutions, NHS England, and the Integrated Care System to ensure that all apprenticeship students receive the experience, exposure, and education they need to fulfill their programme requirements and qualify as our next generation of professionals. You will also support the recruitment and monitoring of clinical apprenticeship students, manage the clinical apprenticeship placement capacity processes, and provide support for clinical apprenticeship students, Practice Assessors, and Clinical Educators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the clinical student apprenticeship recruitment processes, ensuring the recruitment of high-calibre healthcare apprentice students.
  • Work in partnership with Higher Education Institutions to ensure the recruitment of the appropriate healthcare apprentice students.
  • Manage the clinical apprenticeship placement capacity processes, ensuring the appropriate liaison with Higher Education Institutions, Clinical Managers, Clinical Team Leaders, Practice Assessors, Practice Supervisors, Clinical Educators, and Administrators.
  • Provide support for clinical apprenticeship students, and Practice Assessors and Clinical Educators, on an individual or group basis to resolve difficulties with assessments and assist with individual action planning where necessary.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Relevant experience of working with clinical apprenticeship students, Practice Assessors, and Clinical Educators across Nursing and Allied Healthcare Professions.
  • Relevant experience of clinical placement management.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • High level of IT literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • High level of negotiating and influencing skills.
