Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Therapeutic Radiographer to join our esteemed team at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. This role is integral to our mission of providing exceptional cancer care and advancing treatment methodologies.
Role Summary
The successful candidate will take on a leadership role within our radiotherapy department, overseeing complex treatment processes and ensuring the highest standards of patient care. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a specialized radiotherapy work environment, which may include treatment units, CT scanners, and preparation areas.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the operational management of radiotherapy processes, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in treatment delivery.
- Supervise and mentor a team of radiographers, students, and support staff, fostering a collaborative and educational atmosphere.
- Engage with multidisciplinary teams, including medical, nursing, and clerical staff, to ensure seamless patient care.
- Oversee the implementation of advanced radiotherapy techniques, ensuring adherence to protocols and safety standards.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental practices.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- HCPC registration as a therapeutic radiographer, with a relevant degree.
- Extensive experience in a sophisticated radiotherapy environment, particularly with advanced techniques.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a clinical setting.
Desirable:
- Postgraduate qualifications in therapeutic radiography or leadership.
- Experience in clinical education and training of junior staff.
