Role Overview: This position is tailored for candidates with experience in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine (ICM) at the CT level or equivalent. The role involves rotation through various anaesthesia specialties, including general anaesthesia, obstetric anaesthesia, and ICM.
Ideal Candidates: We welcome applications from those currently pursuing training in anaesthesia or ICM. This role provides an opportunity to complete essential competencies for Stage 1 top-up training in Anaesthesia over a period of 12-15 months. Please note that applicants must possess the requisite experience.
Service Demand: This position is essential to meet the growing demand for anaesthetic and critical care services within our Trust. The role encompasses a blend of service delivery, educational responsibilities, and out-of-hours commitments, rotating between general anaesthesia, obstetric anaesthesia, and intensive care for periods of 3-6 months.
Surgical Specialties: The surgical specialties involved include Day Surgery, Ophthalmology, Gynaecology, ENT/Maxillofacial, Trauma & Orthopaedic, Upper GI, Hepatobiliary, Colorectal, and Thoracic Surgery. General and Obstetric Anaesthesia sessions will primarily occur at various hospitals within our Trust.
Critical Care Responsibilities: Some critical care duties will take place in our General Intensive Care Unit, where you will collaborate with a dedicated team of medical professionals in a dynamic and supportive environment. Participation in a full shift rota (1 in 5) is expected, along with opportunities for involvement in audit and research initiatives.
Professional Development: This role presents an excellent opportunity to enhance your CV and serves as a stepping stone in your training journey. You will be assigned an educational supervisor to guide your professional development through regular meetings.
