About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Microsoft Server Engineer to join our Infrastructure Team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our staff and ensuring that our service users' needs are met through the development and maintenance of our core Infrastructure.

This is a technical role where you will work as part of the Infrastructure Team to implement, operate, and maintain a range of internal and hosted systems with a focus on Virtual Infrastructure services. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing infrastructure support and/or 3rd line level support, provide periodic out of hours support, and be able to travel between sites.

The successful candidate will have a valid driving licence and own vehicle suitable for movement of equipment. They will also have a degree level or equivalent experience and evidenced continuous development, with demonstrable specialist knowledge of Windows Server based computers, Server Virtualisation/VMWare/Nutanix/Rubrik, and MCP 3 or more modules / MCSE / MCSA / MCTS Cisco Networking certification.

The main duties of the job include assisting in the implementation of digital innovative solutions, actively participating in developing and supporting the Trust's core server infrastructure system, delivering a high standard of server and virtual platform support, and working with 3rd party technical teams to help deliver projects which aim to meet the Trust's digital strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement digital innovative solutions throughout the entire process from design to project completion and ongoing support.
  • Develop and support the Trust's core server infrastructure system to meet the needs of our services and external users.
  • Deliver a high standard of server and virtual platform support and communication whilst supporting incidents reported by users within the agreed timescales.
  • Work with 3rd party technical teams to help deliver projects which aim to meet the Trust's digital strategy.
  • Focus on identifying issues with the Trust's core server and virtual infrastructure.
Requirements
  • Degree level or equivalent experience and evidenced continuous development.
  • Demonstrable specialist knowledge of Windows Server based computers, Server Virtualisation/VMWare/Nutanix/Rubrik.
  • MCP 3 or more modules / MCSE / MCSA / MCTS Cisco Networking certification.
  • Valid driving licence and own vehicle suitable for movement of equipment.
