SGS is seeking a skilled Asbestos Surveyor to ensure the safety of clients and the public by identifying and assessing potential asbestos-containing materials in buildings.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough asbestos surveys in accordance with HSE guidelines and regulations.
- Identify and sample suspected asbestos-containing materials.
- Record accurate and detailed survey findings using digital or paper-based systems.
- Assess the condition and risk of identified asbestos materials.
- Provide clear and concise reports to clients, including recommendations for management or removal.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of asbestos legislation, industry standards, and best practices.
- Adhere to health and safety protocols at all times.
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Certification or qualification in asbestos surveying P403, P404 certification or RSPH equivalent.
- Proven experience as an Asbestos Surveyor, ideally within a similar role or environment.
- Strong knowledge of asbestos-related legislation, regulations, and guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately record and document survey findings.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with survey software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- A valid driving license and willingness to travel to various sites as required.
