About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety, Health, and Environmental Manager to join our team at Koura. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety, health, and environmental performance across our UK operations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead Safety, Health, and Environmental Initiatives
    • Develop and implement effective safety, health, and environmental policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct regular site audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure all necessary licenses, permits, and certifications are obtained and maintained for our UK operations.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies, including the HSE, EA, and BSI.
  • Provide Technical Expertise
    • Develop and maintain technical knowledge and understanding of safety, health, and environmental operational activities.
    • Provide guidance and support to site teams on safety, health, and environmental matters.
  • Manage External Interactions
    • Represent Koura at external meetings, reviews, audits, and inspections.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including suppliers and contractors.
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications
    • Minimum: Graduate in a relevant discipline (e.g., chemical, scientific, or environmental science).
    • Professional safety and health qualification (e.g., NEBOSH diploma) is essential.
  • Experience and Skills
    • Established technical background with 10 years' experience in a production or operations environment.
    • Minimum 3 years' experience in a regulatory position for an upper-tier COMAH site (or equivalent).
    • Proven experience with management systems, including design, implementation, and auditing.
    • Technical competence in a broad range of specific topics (e.g., process safety, environmental regulation, occupational safety).
