Position: SAP Security Manager / Technical Lead
Overview:
The SAP Security Manager / Technical Lead is responsible for aligning the client's strategic objectives within the SAP Security and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) domain. The ideal candidate will develop a comprehensive roadmap and delineate tasks and subtasks necessary to fulfill these objectives, including establishing a set of performance metrics in collaboration with the client to evaluate the effectiveness of the SAP Security team, which will be managed by a third-party Systems Integrator (SI). The role requires maintaining up-to-date policies, procedures, and standards while ensuring they are implemented as specified. The candidate will also identify skills gaps based on the established metrics and advocate for the necessary expertise within the team. Additionally, the candidate will assess upcoming projects and assist in the initial phases of blueprinting and high-level design, as well as track progress against the established roadmap.
Location: Remote with occasional travel.
Communication Skills:
- Ability to present effectively in various formats, including face-to-face, web conferences, and written communications.
- Skill in translating technical jargon into comprehensible language for non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in managing and leading meetings with the SAP Security Team, broader SAP Team, Financial Governance, Audit, and senior management.
- Reporting to the SAP Technical Lead on the performance of the SAP Security Team against the agreed metrics.
- Collaborating with the SAP Security Team to update policies and processes in accordance with business needs.
Technical Expertise:
- Proficient understanding of SAP Security and GRC technologies.
- Familiarity with HANA S/4, HANA Cloud applications, and Fiori UI5, along with a basic understanding of JSON and SOA.
- Experience with OData Services for SAP backend data integration in Fiori applications.
- Ability to build and maintain Fiori Tiles, Groups, and Catalogs.
- Knowledge of SAP Fiori Authorization concepts, roles, and profiles.
- Efficiently diagnosing technical issues and providing accurate solutions.
- Managing IT risk, governance, and segregation of duties projects, including ongoing maintenance.
- Conducting licensing audits using the License Administrators Workbench.
- Experience with SAP GRC Access Controls versions 10.0 and 12.0, including implementation and upgrades.
- Expertise in SAP GRC modules such as ARM, PC, and EAM.
- Translating business requirements into technical specifications.
- Reviewing implementations and changes for quality assurance.
Industry Knowledge:
- Collaborating closely with functional experts to implement best practices.
- Engaging with Risk and Governance teams to ensure timely consideration of business requirements.
- Understanding compliance frameworks such as SOX, JSOX, and ITIL.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Approving security modifications.
- Conducting detailed and high-level design reviews.
- Analyzing Segregation of Duties (SoD) reports and taking necessary actions.
- Delegating tasks to the offshore/SI team.
- Managing escalations effectively.
- Updating the project roadmap as needed.
- Facilitating stakeholder communications.
- Reporting progress to management.
- Coordinating with internal and external auditors to define audit scope and schedules.
- Addressing audit-related issues and finding resolutions.
- Collaborating with Financial Governance and IT Assurance to identify and mitigate risks.
- Working with the offshore team/SI lead to plan and schedule work.
- Developing reporting capabilities for management oversight.
- Maintaining partner relationships.
- Reviewing and approving documentation and processes.
Qualifications:
The candidate should possess a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in team management or as a senior team lead, with strong references from a similarly sized and complex organization. A deep understanding of SAP and standard ABAP Security concepts, as well as familiarity with BW, Analysis, Structural, and Portal technologies, is essential. Project management skills, preferably in Prince 2 or Agile methodologies, are advantageous. Relevant certifications such as ISACA CISA, CISM, PAS 555, or ISO/IEC 27001, along with awareness of GDPR implications, are preferred. Experience or awareness of DevSecOps practices is also a plus.
