About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Engineer to join our team in a specialist Aerospace and Defence-related industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and components, and will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Compile, monitor, and update project plans and status reports to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.
  2. Provide technical and administrative support for specific projects, including drawing and parts list release and modification.
  3. Generate project procurement lists, raise project RFQs and purchase orders, and monitor and actively progress the project procurement process.
  4. Be responsible for receiving project deliveries, goods inwards approval, and assignment to the relevant project.
  5. Undertake associated project duties as requested by Senior Management.
Requirements
  1. Be qualified to SVQ/NVQ level 5 or ONC/HNC (Minimum Level 4) or City & Guilds T4 or T6 in Mechanical Engineering, with a supporting EITB Approved Apprenticeship.
  2. Have a good understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles and the ability to apply them in an analytical and methodical approach.
  3. Have a strong background in Design/Project Administration/Engineering.
  4. Possess a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word.
  5. Knowledge of SolidWorks Solid Modelling would be an advantage.
  6. Be flexible and adaptable to a range of working methods and processes.
  7. Be well-organised, able to communicate technical and practical concepts, and be a team player.
