About this Role:

As a seasoned Contract Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of 2-3 projects from input to second stage preconstruction phase through construction on site to handover. Reporting to the Area Director and Operations Manager, you will lead a team of construction professionals to ensure timely, within-budget, and high-quality project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Liaise with clients to understand their needs and expectations
  2. Develop and implement project plans, including programming and design development
  3. Manage site-based project teams to ensure efficient project execution
  4. Ensure compliance with company health and safety standards and policies
  5. Conduct quality assurance checks to maintain high standards
  6. Manage staffing and resource allocation to meet project demands
  7. Forecast project costs and progress to ensure timely completion
  8. Coordinate and lead progress meetings to drive project momentum
  9. Report on project progress and performance to stakeholders
  10. Resolve issues and conflicts that may arise during project execution
About the Company/Client/Project:

This is a Tier 1 main contractor regional office with an annual turnover of £60-70 million, operating in the Hampshire south coast and M3/A3M corridor area. The scope of works includes education schools and colleges, student accommodation, commercial, industrial, scientific, and MOD projects. With a long-established regional business unit, projects typically range in value from £8 million to £40 million.

We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager with a degree in engineering or construction management, who has extensive practical experience in managing new build and refurbishment design and build projects for a Tier 1 main contractor. An experienced Project Manager looking to take the next step will also be considered.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent contractual, commercial, and technical construction knowledge, with the ability to plan, programme, and drive the construction of projects through their site teams, while maintaining positive client relationships throughout.
