Principal Renewable Energy Assessor

Become a key player in the renewable energy landscape with NFU Mutual as the Principal Renewable Energy Assessor. In this significant position, you will contribute to minimizing renewable energy uncertainties and ensuring that the organization leads the industry effectively. Position Overview

As the Principal Renewable Energy Assessor, your primary responsibility will be to deliver expert insights and strategic leadership on all facets of renewable energy risk management. You will establish a comprehensive framework and serve as the principal authority for all technical aspects within the surveying team. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing the skills and capabilities within the Loss Control department and Underwriting, thereby influencing NFU Mutual's risk management strategies and maintaining its leadership in the renewable energy sector.

Your responsibilities will encompass conducting thorough assessments of intricate renewable energy risks, providing expert advice to underwriting and other stakeholders, and formulating risk management protocols and standards. Additionally, you will spearhead and execute training initiatives to enhance the knowledge and skills of colleagues in renewable energy. By supplying underwriters with precise loss estimations, you will aid in making well-informed decisions regarding capacity deployment. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of renewable energy risk management at NFU Mutual and enhance the company's premier services and capabilities.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of renewable technologies, regulatory requirements, and associated risks and challenges. You should possess experience in providing technical guidance on renewable energy issues to diverse stakeholders. Strong negotiation skills, the ability to identify risk management opportunities, and experience in training and developing expertise in renewable technologies are essential for this role. Previous experience in insurance, underwriting, claims, or surveying is advantageous, and a full valid UK Driving Licence is required.

While familiarity with machinery beyond the renewable sector is beneficial, it is not a prerequisite for this position.
