Speech and Language Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in providing flexible, creative, and person-centered support within an inpatient mental health setting for adults and older people.
Key Responsibilities- Support the development of the SLT service within inpatient specialist mental health services.
- Carry a caseload, completing assessments and interventions, including assessment and management of communication needs, dysphagia/eating and drinking difficulties, and advising on inclusive communication strategies for people with a range of mental health needs and co-occurring conditions.
- Offer advice, training, and consultation to other clinicians and support staff.
- Take a key role in improving the identification and support of people on the autistic spectrum and have experience and additional training in this area.

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist with:
Experience of working with people with mental health issues, learning disabilities, and autism services.Experience of providing supervision to others.Direct experience of working with service users with complex needs alongside, or with supervision, from a more specialist SLT.Awareness of current mental health agenda at both a national and local level.Awareness of relevant legislation, national policy, and best practice guidance.-
