Position: Healthcare Support and Food Service Operative

Employment Type:
Temporary

This role is ongoing with no specified end date. Candidates seeking long-term opportunities are preferred.

Availability:
Shifts are available between 0800 and 1700, including weekends and bank holidays as needed.

Compensation:
Monday to Friday: £13.00 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
Saturday: £17.50 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
Sunday / Bank Holiday: £22.00 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

Role Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Healthcare Support and Food Service Operative is to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the healthcare environment, thereby supporting patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Follow established cleaning protocols and schedules to maintain environmental cleanliness standards.
2. Comply with all relevant policies and procedures, including COSHH, Colour Coding, Food Safety Regulations, and Waste Management.
3. Perform cleaning tasks in various areas, including clinical settings, sanitary facilities, kitchens, waiting rooms, circulation spaces, and administrative offices.
4. Manage waste disposal by emptying and cleaning waste receptacles and preparing waste for collection.
5. Conduct isolation and discharge cleaning, which includes the safe removal and replacement of screens.
6. Uphold high standards of personal hygiene and overall cleanliness in all work aspects.
7. Report any accidents or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor or manager.
8. Attend mandatory training sessions and apply learned skills to daily tasks.

Catering Responsibilities:
In addition to cleaning duties, the role may involve catering tasks such as:
  • Reheating meals for patients in wards
  • Assisting with food preparation for both patients and staff
  • Cleaning within the catering department and associated areas

Qualifications:
Experience in a cleaning or domestic support role within the healthcare sector is preferred. Candidates should be flexible and available for a variety of shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
