About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our Transmission business as a Trainee Engineer. As a Trainee Engineer, you will have the opportunity to study towards a HNC and Diploma in Higher Education in Energy Engineering while gaining hands-on experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Balance academic study with work-based experience in our Transmission business
  • Work towards a HNC and Diploma in Higher Education in Energy Engineering
  • Gain hands-on experience in the field, including working on site and in the field, and working alongside experienced SSE engineers and crafts people
  • Develop skills in Low Voltage Switching and High Voltage Switching
  • Contribute to the daily operation, repair, and future design of the network
Requirements
  • Highly organized and self-driven with the ability to manage your time well
  • Flexible in your approach to work to maximize your chances of success
  • Comfortable spending time living away from home while attending college or on placements
  • Relevant qualifications, including a Scottish Higher at grade C or above in Maths or Physics, or equivalent
