Academic Finance Business Partner

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative individual to join our Finance Directorate as a Finance Business Partner. This exciting opportunity will enable you to make a meaningful difference for our local population, supporting the Health Board.
The successful candidate will be integral in translating and triangulating operational strategies into financial cost and benefits, ensuring service resilience, sustainability, and value for money. You will work closely with our Senior Finance Business Partner and other Finance Business Partners to achieve this goal.
Main Responsibilities- Provide strong financial leadership to the Directorates you support, ensuring their performance delivery and providing appropriate governance and sound professional advice and support.
- Develop and support the creation of business cases to deliver change in the Health Board, including activity performance analysis, system-wide analysis, and providing financial updates at various forums.
Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and its bordering counties. Our 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health, and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales.

Person SpecificationWe are looking for a candidate with a CCAB qualified accountant, professional accountancy qualification, and further specialist knowledge training and experience. Membership of a professional Chartered Accounting institution and evidence of Continuous Professional Development are also essential.
Desirable qualifications include an understanding of developing best practice in the NHS within the UK nations and of management and leadership best practice developments. A Welsh Speaker (Level 1) is also desirable.
Essential experience includes working in a complex organisation, developing business cases, delivering within challenging financial situations, and communicating in a highly politically sensitive environment. Commercially astute and able to manage day-to-day business challenges while not losing sight of long-term strategic goals, you will be a strong fit for this role.
