About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Baltimore Consulting Limited. As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for providing a specialist speech and language therapy service to schools within a local authority.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Intervention: Plan, assess, diagnose, and deliver interventions for young people in special schools with a range of needs within language, speech, and communication.
  • Specialist Intervention: Provide specialist intervention and evaluated outcomes for young people with ASD, Epilepsy, Speech, and Language needs.
  • Training and Support: Provide training, advice, and support to colleagues in areas of specialism such as ASD, Epilepsy, Speech, and Language.
  • School and Family Support: Work directly with schools and settings through a range of interventions, and work with families of young people, the local authority, and schools to offer advice, support, and explanations.
Requirements
  • Experience: You will have experience supporting and supervising trainee Speech and Language Therapists, and working in maintained or independent special schools.
  • Qualifications: HCPC Registered.
  • Knowledge: You will have a specialist understanding of young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Additional Educational Needs or Specific Speech and Language Impairment, and understand current legislation and guidance in relation to SEN and educational inclusion.
