Arcus FM Limited is seeking a Construction Site Supervisor in the Midlands. The primary responsibility of the successful applicant will be to guarantee that projects are executed safely, adhering to the agreed quality standards while remaining within the defined parameters of risk, cost, and timeline.

The role typically requires oversight of sites across the West Midlands, East Midlands, and North West regions.


  • Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum, based on experience
  • Benefits: Company van and fuel card
  • Bonus: 4% discretionary bonus scheme, contingent on target achievement
  • Leave: 25 days annual leave, in addition to bank holidays
  • Pension: Group personal pension scheme with matched contributions between 5% and 6%


The successful candidate will report to the Contracts Manager and will be expected to consistently meet the company's management expectations across all key areas. This includes managing and supporting individuals and teams to achieve and surpass business performance objectives.

Building and maintaining strong client relationships, along with regular reporting on contracts to both the client and Contracts Manager, is a crucial aspect of this role. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for leading, motivating, and developing site supervisors and directly employed operatives/engineers.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assume full day-to-day responsibility for the safe, successful, and profitable execution of assigned projects, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and conditions.
  • Ensure that all work is conducted safely and to a high standard, in accordance with relevant legislation and codes of practice.
  • Maintain close communication with clients, subcontractors, and in-house teams to foster and sustain positive working relationships.
  • Support the Contracts Manager by providing accurate and timely information for progress and operational reporting.
  • Oversee and manage construction workers and subcontractors.
  • Procure materials for each project phase as needed.
  • Monitor and report on project progress.
  • Conduct quality and safety inspections.
  • Prepare and review site reports, designs, and drawings.
  • Maintain quality control checks.
  • Inspire and motivate the workforce.
  • Address day-to-day problem-solving and manage any arising issues.
  • Engage in proactive supply chain management.
  • Deliver projects in alignment with Arcus governance and control structures.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Arcus FM policies, quality, and health and safety management systems.
  • Participate in the performance development review (PDR) process, conducting regular one-on-one meetings and toolbox talks to enhance the employee experience.


The ideal candidate will possess experience in a construction project environment, with a strong background in project site management, complemented by robust Mechanical and Electrical/Fabric knowledge.

Demonstrating excellent customer service skills and leadership capabilities, the candidate should be adept at developing and nurturing relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and subcontractors.


Essential Knowledge & Skills:
  • SMSTS certification
  • Asbestos Awareness training
  • First Aid at Work certification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project
  • PASMA / IPAF / Hot Works / Temporary Works (Desirable)
  • Comprehensive understanding of CDM Regulations and the responsibilities of the principal contractor, along with current HSQE legislation
  • Strong technical knowledge and commercial awareness
