Job Title: VRS Operative

We are seeking a skilled and experienced VRS Operative to join our team in Perth/Dundee. As a VRS Operative, you will be responsible for carrying out repairs to damaged Vehicle Restraint Systems and installing new upgraded systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Erect and remove temporary and permanent crash barriers, as well as traffic management signs
  • Install and fix temporary/permanent road furniture
  • Operate power tools, small plant, and machinery
  • Drive vehicles, including those with simple attachments such as tractors
  • Provide support for specialist VRS team members
  • Ensure the health and safety of the public, colleagues, and yourself
  • Participate in standby and winter maintenance rota
  • Perform winter maintenance duties, including fitting gritter body and blade, driving gritter, and spreading salt by hand if required
Requirements:
  • Experience of using small plant and holding tickets for plant, traffic management, Health & Safety
  • Hold a clean driving licence, preferably at LGV2 level
  • Flexibility for shift work
  • Achievement of the H&S CLSA 34X and CITB H&S touch screen tests
