FirstGroup is a leading private sector provider of public transportation services. Our businesses are at the heart of our communities, and the essential services we provide are critical to delivering wider economic, social, and environmental goals.
We are recruiting for a Compliance Officer, who will be an integral part of the new Group Controls team and will report to the Group Head of Controls. Key responsibilities of the role will be to ensure compliance with the Group Control Framework, through delivery of testing and reporting on material financial, operational, reporting, and compliance controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with the Group Control Framework
- Deliver testing and reporting on material financial, operational, reporting, and compliance controls
- Work closely with the business on how to resolve control issues, improve efficiency, and provide control and fraud awareness training
Requirements:
- Good understanding of internal control requirements
- At least 5 years' experience in a large company
- Ideal qualifications in accounting or auditing
The base location is London or Aberdeen, with a hybrid working pattern. This role will require UK travel of around one day per week.
