Job Title: Senior Temporary Works Engineer

A leading Civil Engineering Contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Temporary Works Engineer to join their team in Leeds. The ideal candidate will have expertise in underground structures and tunnelling temporary works, with a strong background in design consultancy and a high level of technical skill.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the development and mentorship of junior engineers.
  2. Support the tendering team in developing construction methodology.
  3. Lead projects through the preconstruction design phase and construction phase.
  4. Manage KPIs to tight programme dates.
  5. Ensure designs adhere to industry standards and codes.
  6. Coordinate external consultants and third-party checkers.
  7. Liaise with clients and project construction teams.
  8. Aid tender bids when required.

Requirements:

  1. BEng or MEng level in Civil and/or Structural Engineering or similar discipline.
  2. Working towards chartership, such as the ICE or IStructE.
  3. 5+ years' experience with expertise in underground structures/tunnelling temporary works.
  4. Design consultancy environment.
  5. High level of technical skill with accomplished structural design skills.
  6. Good geotechnical knowledge.
  7. Ability to support, mentor and develop junior engineers within the team.
  8. Sound knowledge of CDM H&S regulations.
  9. Excellent written English and grammar.
